Seasons Greetings from the NCI Cancer Bulletin

December 20, 2011 Dear NCI Cancer Bulletin Subscriber, The editors, writers, and technical staff of the NCI Cancer Bulletin would like to wish each of you a joyous holiday season and a happy and healthy new year. Next month, we will begin our ninth year of publication. Since launching in 2004, we have published nearly 275 issues and over 3,800 cancer research news stories, all of which can be accessed through our archive/search page. As in years past, we received helpful comments from readers and invaluable scientific advice from many experts in the field, including those from NCI’s divisions, centers, and offices. This guidance has helped the NCI Cancer Bulletin and its writers and videographers achieve a number of accolades in 2011, including a first place award in the highly competitive National Association of Government Communicators Gold Screen competition. Of course, the true measure of the newsletter is reflected in the important research news and feature stories that appear in each issue. Many of these stories are included in our "2011 Editors' Picks" list. We chose some articles for their potential impact on clinical practice and others for their value as important but underreported topics. Thank you again for your interest and support in 2011.
